The Monthly [In]Sanity Check - March 2003 I'll Review Your Site! Hey! I'll review your site! All I ask is that you link Adriennewolter.com with a text link or image link (either can be found on the link moi page) saying you were reviewed by me (you'll be getting a link to you!). Here's how it works: I'll be pretty much judging your site, telling you what could be improved, etc. Don't worry, I'm not overly picky. ;) Please keep in mind, though, that as I'm a very detailed author who believes in proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation, you're much more likely to get a higer score if you read over your site before submitting. ;) Here's my method of judging (which will prolly be changed, no doubts): 1) First impression (?/15) - although first impressions aren't usually too good a thing, they happen, so I'll grade on them. I won't really notice in particular the number of popups or whatever (as Mozilla, which totally rocks by the way, disables them), but there are more annoying things for me to notice... ugly/hard-to-navigate layout, pictures that don't show, weird CSS, hard to read text, music that I can't turn off (aaaaah!), slow-loading images, the like. What I want to see is crisp, easy-to-find, easy-to-use navigation, text spaced nicely in a size that's not too large or too small, some visual aids but not so many that they dominate what you have to say, a clear intorduction, title, the like. 2) Navigation (?/10) - Getting deeper into the navigation. Can I access every page in two clicks or less? Do all the links work? Do off-site links open in a new window (especially if the site's in frames!)? 3) Text (?/20) - Is it easy to read? Is there an introduction to your site? Is it in a font/color/size that's easy to read? Is there proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation? 4) Content (?/50) - It's the backbone of a site! Do I find myself bored? Excited? Wishing I could be IMing people instead? Is there even some form of content? 5) Everything else (?/5) - Any comments on your site, and whether I might return in the future. Buahahaha. Final score - just everything tallied up. ~ How to submit.... Types of sites I'm accepting - I will accept personal sites as long as they do not contain or encourage anything inappropriate (such as animal abuse, racism, discrimination...). I tolarate the occasional cuss word, but if you're sprinkling them on too generously, to the X in the corner I go. Sorry, but my parents are strict, and if they catch me reading that stuff I'm the equivalent of doomed. ^^" I will also accept blog-style sites, but this is NOT a diary review site, and the majority of blogs I will probably turn down, as, ah, I'm busy and I really don't need to know about your personal life, however dramatic, boring, exciting, sad, or weird it is. Sowwee. Before you submit - Keep in mind that A) I have a very busy life, however unimportant and boring it may be, and I simply cannot live on the computer; B) I run a Hogwarts ('nuff said); and C) it is totally up to me which sites I choose to review, 'cause, frankly, I have a very short attention span. If you are rejected, you may reapply a month or two later; if you would like a re-review, you must make drastic changes to your site, and submit two months or more after you were first reviewed. Before you submit your site, put a text link or button link on your site that says you are awaiting a review from Adriennewolter.com (stick it on a links page or reviewed by page, just make sure I can find it). If your site gets rejected, you may take it off; if your site gets accepted, you must keep it on now and forever, 'cause I'll be linking you [in your review] now and forever. Submitting - Write a polite e-mail to moi at this address, and I will get back to you within a few days. Be sure to include your site's name, your site's url, a brief description of the site, and how you found Adriennewolter.com (last one's for my curiousity :P). Here's a button you can use to link to Adriennewolter.com, hosted at Angelfire:
