The Music
The music is a part
of me
A way to escape
A road to freedom
If only for a few minutes
I can sing through
the day
I can sing through my dreams
I can sing through the sadness
I can sing through the joy
The music swirls around
me
I can almost touch it
I can almost see it
The feeling's so strong
I can sing through
the rain
I can sing through the shine
I can sing through the anger
I can sing through the fear
The music is a friend
It is always there
Ever present
Never quite out of reach
I can sing through
the sickness
I can sing through the wellness
I can sing through the silence
I can sing through the noise
Because I've always
got music
It's something they can never take away
They can take every possession, every sign of life
And the music will still sing within
