Obstacle
Sitting
here, on this hard chair
In this dingy little room
I stare at the floor, the pea green floor
As my counselor shuffles through papers
I remind
myself, this is the last year
No more sitting in this cubicle
When I'd rather be out there
And I'd rather be out there
She
asks me a question, I only nod
Why can't this be simple? I curse in my head
She shakes her head and shoos me out
I'm happy to oblige
When
the unexpected ruins our plans
Some take it all in one stride
But for me, whenever this happens
It's like I'm tripping again and again
