Just Another Lie (2)

We were riding on a rollercoaster
A dangerous one at that
It seemed like every day got colder
But it was all a lie
Just another lie

I observed the ups and downs
Watched you suffer, watched you cry
But all I could do was offer comfort
Which is hard 100 miles away

Is a friend who we think they are?
Is a friend who they say they are?
Even if we love them, can we trust them
Trust them to be who they are?

We were riding on a rollercoaster
A dangerous one at that
It seemed like every night we shivered more
But it was all a lie
Just another lie

I still don't understand
What was real and what was never there
How could this have happened?
We all lived in a lie

One day a rose, the next a weed
One day a reality, next a dream
Who on earth could play this game
Why us out of many?

We were riding on a rollercoaster
Coasting off the tracks
We flew, we flew
And then we fell
But it was all a lie
Just another lie

I titled this the same as another poem? My, I'm getting repetitive.
To me and probably one other person, what this is about is blindingly obvious, and I'm sorry I wrote it and I'm sorry I put it here. Sorry. Dated October 23rd, 2003.
