I Can't Stand

You said that you loved me
Now you won't let me be
You're forever using
My kind words against me

I said that I loved you
Now I don't, do you hear?
And every time you look at me
I'm cautioned by my fear

I can't stand walking from our house
With you comin', closin' the door
I can't stand looking in the mirror
With you behind me anymore

And now I'm just so sick and tired
Of playing games with you
You're needy, dependent, clingy, sad
And it's making me sad too

I just want to let go
Of everything we'd been
If only to get out of all
These troubles we got ourselves in

Once we were so strong
But now we're just weak
Can we ever really reach
The harmony we seek?

I can't stand when you follow me
Sticking to me like a sore
I can't stand looking in the mirror
With you behind me anymore

And now I'm just so sick and tired
Of playing games with you
You're needy, dependent, clingy, sad
And it's making me sad too

I like this one. It has some sort of rhythm, unlike many of my other poems, and it could be a song too. And it rhymes! O.O Dated February 8th, 2004.
