Caution
Gone are the
days
To throw caution to the wind
You smile at me and I'll smile back
But that is all I can promise
Consider my
actions
Think twice 'bout my words
The turtle, slow but steady
Did he not always win the race?
And so early
in the morning
When the sky fades into grey
Will I be able to find you
While still following my ways?
Back into the
shelter of lonliness
All safe in itself
Back into the shelter of facts
Where no guesswork abounds
Gone are the
days
To throw caution to the wind
You smile at me and I'll smile back
But that is all I can promise
I'll hold your
hand and kiss your cheek
Turning away when you try to find me
Crawling, wounded, on a neverending path
Because that's where I brought myself
