My Obsession With Potter

I like the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.

Well, who doesn't? They're likely the best-selling series in history, not to mention that people of all ages, backgrounds, and languages can relate to the characters within them.

But, yeah. I'm not going to ramble on about their interest in Potter, I'm going to blab about my own.

Yeah. Something like that.

Probably the most obvious proof of my obsession is my Hogwarts site, which went on the web November 10th, 2001, six days before the first Potter movie came out into theatres.

I've also read each book in the series (well... 1-4) at least eight or nine times each. And no, I don't get bored of them. :P I got the fourth book the Tuesday after it came out, and was done Thursday morning, reading about four or five hours a day.

Book five was pretty good, although not quite as satisfying as it could have been for the three-year wait. Oh well. Book six should be out sooner, maybe in a year and a half or so.

My favorite character throughout the books is Snape, has been for more than two years. Snape's just awesome. Most people don't understand it, but I like the darker characters more than the lighter ones, hee hee. Besides Sevvie, I like the characters Remus Lupin, Percy Weasley (yeah, he really was a jerk in book five, oh well), Draco Malfoy, and Neville Longbottom. Squee.

My favorite book in the series was book three. Awesome, awesome book. For me, it was a book I could get lost in for hours and hours, able to feel the magic. Corny sounding, but true, the only way to describe it. Well, other than 'it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside'. Besides, Snape is awesome in that one, as well as Lupin being introduced.

I also write fan fiction. Most of what I write is slash (male/male, yaoi, gay writing, whatever), just because I like it. Who knows. Man, a year and a half ago I'd be shocked that I like the stuff now, but I think it's awesome, lol. My favorite pairings (slash and het) are Harry/Snape, Percy/Neville, Harry/Neville, Harry/Draco, Hermione/Ron, and Hermione/Draco. Yup.
