Book Reviews Book: Snow Bound Author: Harry Mazer # Pages: 144 Rating: Date reviewed: 8/13/03 Summary: Tony, a spoiled brat, steals his mother's car to search for a dog that his father scared away when it was howling in the night. He picks up a hitchhiker, Cindy, along the way, and in a moment of panic on wheels they get stuck in snow. They eventually realize that no one was going to come and find them; the only way to get help was to find it themselves by working together. Review: I read this for school, and found that I kept getting frustrated because I could only read a chapter or a two at a time instead of the whole thing, which was very short and a fast read. Nothing to do with the book though, heh. I found it a very realistic book (I wonder if Mazer got stuck like described in this book? Eh, probably not) and the characters really didn't seem very forced. I think Mazer could have developed the characters a bit more and revealed a bit more about what they were feeling and thinking, but it was great the way it was. |
