Summary:
Stanley Yelnats, a part of a long line of Stanley Yelnats in his family,
is wrongly convicted of a shoe theft that he did not commit. He is given
the choice to go to Camp Green Lake or jail, so of course he chooses
the former. At Green Lake, which is neither green nor has a lake, he
must dig a five feet deep, five feet wide hole every day.
Eventually he comes to the realization that the holes are not dug to
build character but so that the Warden can find something.
Review: Another book that earns a place in the Best Books I've Ever Read list. The book is possibly the most fast-moving one I've ever read, and I devoured the entire story [so to speak] in a total of 2 1/2 to 3 hours. It was that good. :D
