The four ghost stories listed below are the only ones on this website. Pick one to continue. To come back to this page, use either your back button (or the backspace key if you are so net savvy), or click 'ghosts' in the navigation on the image above or the text at the very bottom.

Please make sure you have read the text on the main page about these being my interpretation of stories I have read.

The below are haunted areas rather than individual ghost sightings (finding individual stories about ghosts that had any detail whatsoever proved too challenging to attempt for this project). I do not claim any of the original stories that I read which I am retelling here. All of the sources for images displayed here are credited in the credits section and in my bibliography. You can hover your mouse over images to see what they are.

Camp Douglas, Illinois
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Fort Monroe, Virginia
Andersonville, Georgia

Ghosts of the Civil War © Adrienne Wolter 2004. Information found on this site is from the webmistress' interpretation of information presented elsewhere (these sources can be found on the Credits and Bibliography page). The layout, coding, and blended image at the top are all © Adrienne Wolter 2004. However, obviously no photographic images found on this site are my own, as I never had the opportunity to actually experience the Civil War/ghost sightings.
