Contests

Welcome to a relatively new section of ¡AW! - its contests! Hopefully this section will become popular and more extravagant, but for now, here are the current contests.

Each contest has a sort of "prize" (a link, a custom image or set, etc.) - and a time limit, be it in actual time or in number of entries, etc. Creativity is a must for many things. Some of these may be called competitions rather than contests. A panel of judges will be used to judge, including me, my brother, and a few friends, for the contests that require it.

NOTES (please read)
~Things you submit must be YOURS and must be postable on AW. (IE, you must permit me to be allowed to post them in your entry.)
~If you wish for your website to be posted to accompany your entry, the content of your site must be PG-13 rated UNLESS the more questionable content is BLATANTLY marked and not on the main page. Otherwise, your IM name (for msn, yim, or aim) may be posted, and/or your e-mail address. Or just your name. Whatever.
~Please follow the rules for each specific contest. I'll likely know if you haven't read them.
~After any entry in which you submit WRITING (original fiction or fan fiction, specifically) in an e-mail, you must write at the bottom "I, (your name), grant Adrienne Wolter permission to post my entry on Adriennewolter.com." Failure to do so may result in the deletion of your entry. I don't want legal problems.
~In your e-mail, you must list your name (or alias you wish to be refered to on AW - please make it realistic, no numbers, just a name), e-mail address, and website (if you have one).
~You may post YOUR entry on your site, but only YOUR entry. You may not take the example entry or anyone else's entries.
~I have the right to disallow any entries I deem inappropriate or uncreative.
~For the applicable contests, there is a participation award and 1st (and sometimes 2nd) place. :) All participants of any contest except the Guess the Song contest get a participation award.

Don't take my contest ideas, images, and examples. Think - you can be more creative and original than that.

Guess the Song
A series of varied "guess the song" type contests. And, no, I don't give lyrics that you can just google to find the answer. You must try a bit harder than that.

Draw a Picture
A different challenge is posted every so often for those more artistic/creative individuals. There are things that must be incorporated into the image, listed on the page, and most are completely random. Creativity is a must.

Complete the Poem
Mad libs at its best. Things must rhyme, be appropriate for all responsible PG audiences, and make some sort of sense, while being funny and creative.

Design a Magazine Cover
While you may find a photo or draw your own image for the cover, the design must work, the text must be readable, and the listed articles must be mentioned on the cover.

Write a Short Story: Original / Fan Fiction
There are two options here: fan fiction or original fiction. Short stories should be short, postable here, and appropriate for all responsible PG audiences. Keep an open mind when reading the challenges, as for fan fiction specifically, some challenges may include slash of odd pairings or age difference. If you don't know what slash is, you'll probably not be interested anyway, so don't bother looking at any marked as such.

Site of the Season
A random site awarding type thing. You know, like a Site of the Month, but this one I can change whenever I feel the need or whim. Thus, site of the season. See?
Entrants will be judged by a panel of judges. Everyone gets a participation award, unless they win, in which case they get a 1st place award. Makes sense, eh?
