Attack of the Babbling Curse by Alohomora As said by Alohomora's Vincent Cooper, the song Attack of the Babbling Curse was never supposed to be their first album's namesake. "My cousin, she came over one night while we were practicing, you know? We'd written all but maybe three songs to go on the album and were going to call it Another Muggle, after another song on the album," Vincent said, grinning and revealing slightly purple-tinted teeth. "She was looking at what we written and saw the album title and told us, while we were playing the first chords of Comet 260, that the title was 'unbelievably boring'." ("Americans have no grace when speaking, do they?" one band member whispered to another behind him.) "So she told us we should name our album after Attack of the Babbling Curse. Said it was quite the name." And they did - and the name is still recognizable these days, even though years have passed since it was first released! Attack

Attack of the Babbling Curse by Alohomora As Alohomora's debut album, Attack of the Babbling Curse got the attention of the media. They wondered how such a diverse group of people could put together such great music. Their single, Comet 260, told the heartwrenching story of a young girl new to love who found it in a Quidditch Chaser who ran away with her heart; other songs on the album were stories, as well as poems written by the group's members turned into song. The album's most popular song, One Spell Later, immediately went to the top of the wizarding charts, and the album's namesake, Attack of the Babbling Curse, also became very popular with young schoolgirls. Since their debut, Alohomora has released five more albums, and are starting work on their seventh. Comet

Bowling With Broomsticks by Dueling Dragons This band was one of those “tavern bands”. They were always wandering around from pub to pub performing as a part-time job. Ever since their notice at the Butter Beer Tavern, Bowling With Broomsticks’ fame has skyrocketed. The band consists of a former beater for the Hogwarts school- Danny Golding, a part-time secretary for the Wizard’s Weekly- Ruby Jentine, and her older brother Ralph. Ruby is the drummer, Ralph is the guitarist, and Danny is the lead singer. There was another singer named Samuel Sona, but there was an argument earlier in the bands’ career, and Samuel went his separate way. Sweeping

Britain's WizKids by Little Charm Little Charm is a group consisting of three wizards - Jake Hadi (Hades), Saleh Barry (Creed) and Dyne Matthews (Diver). Hades, Creed and Diver were friends from childhood, they attended the same primary school in Cairo and started singing in a garage owned by Diver's father. When the boys came to London they had luck and experienced first success. Their song "Muggle Friend" came under top 5 hits in 1999 and stayed there for 2 months. Little Charm is doing rock music. When they released their second album, Changed, hundreds of fans came to see them perform onstage in the Magic of Music concert building. Though many fans think that they will never again be as magical as they were in the days of The Healer and the Seer, they are happy to see their favorite group (and favorite singer, Donn Baye) back. Charming the Snake by Acid Pop Alexandria Moss. Who? She's the newest singer who no one's heard of, making herself a hit. Better known (though not by much) as Acid Pop, this young witch has released the newest album to hit the top thirty lists since Just a Hex by Black Kat. by One More Potion Through the mess that we've all heard about in the Daily Prophet - changing instruments, stolen instruments, kidnapped band members - comes One More Potion's fourth album, Enervate, named after the spell to bring one back to consciousness. With new lead singer Simone Giovetti in tow, the band is slowly but surely becoming again what they were in the days of their first album, Wilted Flowers On Parchment; a strong, honourable band dedicated to the creation of meaningful music. Their latest album tells the story of a young witch's joys and troubles, an emotional flying carpet with an ending note of optimism that keeps listeners charmed. Humorous Post by Illumin Atis As the wizarding music world knows, artist Illumin Atis disappeared months ago and has tentatively been declared dead. The only official trace of her has been the discovery of a mysterious recording that appeared in the offices of Bard's Globe, her record company. This recording, entitled Everything's Great at the Aerie, was immediately put onto the bonus track of the new album, Humorous Post, released posthumously. Unofficially, a member of the Spirit Division swears he came across a ghost with remarkable likeness to the missing star in a report complaining about a singing has been. "It looked exactly like her," he claims. "Well, except for what looked like wax in the hair and a wheel of funky looking cheese in the crook of her arm. And, you know, the whole dead thing." As of yet there is no official word on this claim, although according to our sources the record company has been looking into the feasibility and legalities regarding having a ghost as a star. Yesterday's Free Will was another highly popular song. In an interview with the three friends who make up Snitched, lead singer Traviss Ember told reporters that the band met at the Leaky Cauldron. "We'd all been having bad days, and we just hit it off," he said, waving vaguely at behind him, where Joey Clark (JC) and Daria Edison were talking to different reporters. "JC had been fired, Daria had broken up with her ex-boyfriend [who she is now married to], and I hadn't gotten enough NEWTs (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests) to get into a Ministry job. We all like music, so we decided to meet again some other time to see what we could do. Now we're here!" He gave reporters a goofy grin and left to find the loo. Instructive Songs for Slow Learners by The Professor's Guild Way back in the early 1900s, a group of professors from Hogwarts, Beauxbattons, and various other wizarding schools decided to compose an album of songs for the slow leaners in their classes. The Last Kiss by Painful Patronus Painful Patronus was formed two years ago by five hopefuls straight out of Hogwarts (two Slytherins, two Ravenclaws, and a Hufflepuff). While it's true that people from seperate houses rarely mingle, the case was entirely different for these five. They have been friends since childhood, and have all wanted to be performers from the moment they met. The band consists of the only female, lead singer Violet (Vi) White, bass guitar player Carmen Clearwater, drums player Freggo Hart, harpsichord player Thomas Puddimatter, and electric triangle player Michael (Mich) Miceli. The group chose the name "Painful Patronus" because the more they wrote songs, the more they came to realize that all had depressing undercurrents. "We're not depressed people. But we live in depressing times, and we write what we know," Vi has said. "The name 'Painful Patronus' means that this isn't some unicorn and fairies band. Even a patronus would recoil from this pain," she added. The group has had several hits, including "Pheonix Tears (Heal My Broken Heart)," "Fourth Floor of St. Mungo's," and "The Veela in Her." "The Veela in Her" was number one on the WWN list for seventeen weeks. The group will be touring Western Europe summer of 2004, and North America spring of 2005. Pheonix

The group’s album, Lumos is a platinum selling album and has recently re-entered the charts and stayed at number 1 for a whopping 12 weeks. Pest in Anapestic Rick Lim's Band is famous, or infamous, for their use of limericks, sometimes mutilated, in every song they record. In true limerick fashion, many of their songs are offensive and they are therefore careful not to mention names in fear of going to Azkaban for slander. To an educated listener it is obvious whom they are mocking. The Ministry was at first offended by the group's new album Pest in Anapestic, particularly the song Ministry. As the Ministry's voice, the Daily Prophet calls the song "An excellent example of the Romanian Government with its refusal to regulate dueling." Besides Ministry, which is particularly popular in the Gryffindor Common Room, the album also includes the likes of: Bad Faith of Wiltshire, No, Who? and The Writer of Edinburgh. Ministry The grand

Spellbound by Broken Wands LONDON--On June 21, 2004, Broken Wands, the hit new band, released their eagerly awaited album: Spellbound, featuring the hit single “More Than a Spell.” “More Than a Spell” is about looking for life and destiny without magic. It’s about looking for a life without making everything change with the wave of a wand. About finding more to yourself than what’s hidden behind the wand. Many adoring fans have been asking how Broken Wands came together. “Well, it all started about a year ago,” explained Marrisa “Missy” Fleck, the lead singer of the band. “Jack, Alice, Frank, and I were all in the same year at Durmstrang. We were discussing our plans for the future and we noticed that all of us wanted to look into the singing career. So we decided it would be fun if we formed a band and tried our luck… and look at us now! We never expected this!” We’re all looking forward to another album which the band has decided to release. Waking Up by Levitation Levitation, another new group on the scheme of things, has just released the album Waking Up. With an array of dark topics, Waking Up shocks listeners, many of whom don't really know if they like the music or don't until the very last note. Lead singer Blake Jhimina tells reporters, "We wanted to open up with a bang, and that's why we released Not Quite Real as a single. The entire album is really about finding yourself, so we wanted the music to reflect that." Blake can also play the bass guitar, which is why for some songs he and Andrea Opal switch. Andrea, the group's acoustic guitarist, is a rather vampiric-looking Hogwarts graduate who came from Slytherin. Her words are few and far between, but she does say about the abum, "We wanted it to be real." Percussionist Donna Kleine, rumoured to be a werewolf and doing nothing to repel the rumours, only smiles when reporters ask about the rumour. On the topic of the single, Not Quite Real, she says with a shrug, "It was the first song we wrote together and it's grown on us." Thomas Richet, who sometimes plays flute and harp for the group (they pride themselves on their sometimes odd choice of instruments), tells reporters that their next album, Storm in a Bottle, should be available by March of next year.
