Angelique's
Room of Splendour, Beauxbatons
By Olave
There is a room in Beauxbatons
that is called Angelique's Room of Splendour. This
room is only accessible to those that have gotten the password, and even
then, you have to get into it at six-thirty in the morning, and have to
get out by nine o'clock. The room is quite big, and eccentrically decorated.
The walls change colour depending on which angle you look at them from,
and which light they are in. On one wall is a sort of computer that runs
magically, and you can type in what sort of entertainment (or passtime)
you want, and it appears for you. On another wall is the door, which has
fancy designs carved into the wood. The handle is made out of pure gold.
There are pictures on the walls of Beauxbatons founders and past Headmasters
and -mistresses. The floor is wooden, and has a rug with curly designs
on it. The ceiling is elaborately carved into pictures of cupids and angels,
and is very high. There is an elegant chandelier, made out of crystal,
with candles that never stop burning. Back down on the ground, there are
three armchairs, all red, purple and gold. They have cushions, and footrests.
There is a wooden table in the centre of these chairs that has a glass
top. The glass is like the Mirror of Erised, and shows your hearts desire,
but if you stare at it to long, or try to grab the thing that is shown,
you
shall be sucked into the glass, and you will only be able to get out,
if someone finds you and casts a spell to get you out. Someone will always
find you, as every day, Madam Maxime checks the table.*
This room was made by one of the
founders of Beauxbatons, Angelique Fernience.
*Madam Maxime will give you a triple
detention if she finds you there.

Care of Magical Creatures Classroom,
Hogwarts
By Adrienne
Originally COMC was taught inside a classroom like the
rest of the classes, but recently teachers have been teaching their class
outside, as it's more practical. There's more space and not as much to
set fire to. The room was a fairly large one by classroom standards, with
a large open area in front of twenty-some desks. Located in a room near
the Charms hallway, the room sometimes gets restless and replaces its
doorway with a plain wall; for this reason the room is no longer used
for storage of old classroom materials. There are two windows facing the
lake, but they often cannot be seen from the outside.
In 1977, the classroom was used
for extra room during one Muggle Studies lesson; two students were trapped
inside for seven hours when the room got restless, and the old Care of
Magical Creatures classroom hasn't been used since.

The Chamber of Lady Luck, Hogwarts
By Penelope Weathrebolt
This chamber was created for
people who are feeling down. This chamber is only seen when you either
are sad or when you least expect it.
Lady Luck had a very big imagination
so you will find many objects, books, and enchantments. One of the objects
she made was the Shrine of Luck. When you are down you stand in front
of it, you may make a wish, but if it is selfish you would be cursed for
a depressing life. That is the only known danger in the room so far, since
only two people came into the room since Lady Luck, herself, had died.
The chamber’s ceiling is
enchanted to look like a vortex of colors. The chamber is the same model
as the Chamber of Secrets; there are no statues, however, but inventions.
It is known to have fairies living there in legend because Lady Luck was
pure and wanted to have a creature that resembled her. Many don’t
know where it is exactly but some say it is near the Divination classroom.
The Legend says the entrance is like a door made of White Clouds. They
say that it is near that classroom because Lady Luck was a seer and had
visions of everything but she couldn’t handle it so she made a room
to resemble a heaven. Legend states that she died in a secret compartment
in the chamber because she had many dark wizards after her at the time
because she was a seer and was willing to give her life rather than hurt
others.

Dark-Wood Passage, Hogwarts
By American Angel
Dark-Wood passage was built in 1809 by a wizard named
Colinair Orlando. The only people living who know about it are some members
in the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall. Dumbledore
discovered it on April 4th, 1904, Professor McGonagall was also present.
Dark-Wood Passage got its name by the color of it's walls. Its walls are
obviously Dark Wood. Nobody knows what Colinair Orlando actually named
the passage, but that's what Dumbledore and McGonagall figured.
Dark-Wood Passage can only be opened by a spell called "Hunteraso!".
Dark-Wood passage has many dangers. The floors are very creaky, and seem
like they can fall in at any second. There are also very many poisonous
bugs in it like "ponters", which shoot poison out from their
eye at you.
When you enter Dark-Wood Passage it is very dark, there are ponters right
at the door. There are some possessions that Colinair Orlando left behind.
Some of those things are a diary and some old clothes.
Dark-Wood Passage hasn't been entered in 8 years, only because it is too
dangerous.

Deserted Upside-Down Ballroom, Durmstrang
By Danny T Atlantis
This room, located in Durmstrang, was used centuries ago
as a ballroom for the yearly Durmstrang Awards Ball when everyone who
earned an award throughout the year claimed their award. It was quite
the riot at Durmstrang. It is located through a large tunnel into the
basement and up a ladder into the ballroom. This ballroom is rather large
considering it had to hold all the students and teachers. The amazing
thing about the room is that it is completely upside-down. You better
watch out for the chandelier, or maybe you should just touch the tip of
it. That's how everyone gets to the other side, the ceiling.
It used to always be there,
but an angry and very powerful potions teacher cast a spell on it, making
it only visible once every decade. That was when it stopped being used.
Being there only once a decade means it's only been open and able to be
messed with 10 days every 100 years, so it's still in basically the same
form as it was when it was cursed.
It has beautiful gold silk
curtains over the one window it does have. It has four giant tables making
a square section in the middle of the room for dancing, while beyond the
tables are two other tables for the teachers with a throne in the middle
for the headmaster. The floor is a beautiful aquamarine with a silver
shine. The walls are pure white and silky to perfection. And best of all
is the music. As soon as the first person gets to the doormat, the beautiful
music plays. It's a mixture of the great muggle composers of the world.
Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, and just about any other kind of classical
music you can think of. When you want out, you just say "Abracadabra"
and you will be on the ceiling and ready to leave. There is only one place
to leave or enter.

The Fireplace Room, Hogwarts
By Olave
This room can be found in the fireplace of Gryffindor
common-room. You may not realise this, but the flames in the fireplace
do not burn people. If you put your hand into the flames, at the back
you will feel a handle. push this handle, and a door will open. It will
expand until it is quite big. It will be invisible to everyone except
the person who is opening it, and any people that are with that at person
(i.e. right behind them).
What you should do now, is push
you head into the flames, and you will be sucked into the room. When you
are in the room, you will find that it is quite small. But look carefully,
as there is a false wall. If you find that false wall, and push the third
panel, it will open. There are loads of ways of entertaining yourself
in here, such as a sort of roller coaster ride to the kitchens, and a
bookshelf, and loads of chocolate! There are armchairs, and tables, sofas,
gobstones sets, chess sets, and so many other things, I can't write them!
This room was made by Godric Gryffindor, as an entertainment place for
the Gryffindor students. Not many people know now that this room exists,
as previous students were forbidden by Professor Dippet not to go in,
or tell anyone about it.

Fixto-Room, Hogwarts
By Pheonix Gurl
The Fixto-Room has been around for about 38 years at Hogwarts.
This is the place where they check for any spells, hexes, or anything
else found in some of the items at Hogwarts. For example, remember when
Mr. Potter got a Firebolt, and Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick
were working on it to see what spell might be on it? Well, they had to
go ot the Fixto-Room to find out! See, this enchanting room has things
in it that you can't even imagine! This room only appears in time of need.
It hasn't been seen since 1993 when they checked Harry's Firebolt. It
only stays around for 3 weeks, then it disappears. Some say that it can
be found on the 5th right hand corridor and is the 6th door on the left.
Others say it is in the 2nd left hand corridor and is the 1st door on
the left. They belive this because you can't always see these doors, well,
you can see the one on the 2nd left hand corridor but the knob dissapears!
The teachers still won't tell so we may never know. But who knows what
could be laying beyond the Fixto-Room!

The Ghost Den, Hogwarts
By Percyweasley
The Ghost Den is located at the dungeons; three doors
down from where Potions classes are held. The door to the room is guarded
by a blank painting at the door, but the ghosts just glide in and out
through it.
The Ghost Den is hardly decorated.
Few house elves at Hogwarts would dare enter it, so the place remains
unkept unless the ghost that resides there decide to do so. The room is
very spacious and is believed to be able to house over 3000 ghosts.
Deathday parties, like the
one in celebration of Nearly-Headless Nick's deathday, and other ghost
gatherings are held here.

Golden Cell, Hogwarts
By Molly McGonagall
Golden Cell is a nearly unknown room under Hogwarts. It
is made of nothing but gold, and ancient runes are on the walls. The ceiling
is made out of gold bars, but you can't look up at them or you will become
blind. If you could, and not become blind, you would see that skeletons
hanged from the bars. The door to the Golden Cell is under a rug in the
headmaster's office. Golden Cell is fifty feet wide, and used to be used
to capture wizarding robbers. Now it's just an empty chamber that has
the decayed bodies of the robbers and will burn anyone who tries to take
just a small amount of gold to a crisp. The Ministry of Magic has been
keeping an eye on the enchanted chamber to make sure any innocencent students
that somehow get there aren't turned into ash. Few departments know that
it exists; only two keep it in check.

The Hogwarts Veterinarium, Hogwarts
By Percyweasley
The Hogwarts Veterinarium is located two doors down from
the Hogwarts Infirmary. The entrance is unguarded, and the veterinarium
is open everyday from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Hogwarts students are advised to
come here if their cat, rat, or toads are ill. Students' pets receive
free checkups and can get prescription medicines at a low price here.
The head veterinarian, Professor
Victor Sprayberry, is a very knowledgeable animal caretaker. He graduated
from Hogwarts as a prefect and later enrolled to Oxford University (a
well-known muggle university) and received his degree in veterinary medicine.
The Owlery is a branch of the Veterinarium.
However, when owls need medical attention, they would often go to the
veterinarum themselves for treatment.

Ice Sculpture Garden, Beauxbatons
By Adrienne
During the winter season at Beauxbatons, the Ice Sculpture
Garden appears on the school's grounds, at the exit of the Main Hallway.
It was created in Beauxbaton's tenth year of existance by one of the five
school founders, Blactine Bloombendoot. The sculptures are made of ice
that has a charm to keep it from melting on it; Bloombendoot had originally
planned just for the sculptures to last one year, but he apparently pronounced
a small part of the spell wrong, and they have lasted for ten centuries.
The Sculpture Garden follows the
westward path from the castle to the forest; there are about forty statues
in all, but the count varies slightly from year to year. Among them are
statues of the five founders, the animals from the five teams (platypus,
owl, giraffe, crocodile, and rabbit), and famous wizards from that era.

The Love Shack, Hogwarts
By SpinningJ
The Love Shack is a cozy cottage
by the lake. It only appears on clear nights, when all the stars are out.
The lake is a popular place to walk with the one you love, and the Love
Shack is conveniently located on the South side of the lake. Inside, on
cold winter days, you will find a merry fire in the fireplace and mugs
of hot chocolate. On warm spring days, there will be fresh flowers on
the table and a jug of refreshing iced pumpkin juice. On crisp fall days,
there will be mugs of butterbeer and oatmeal cookies. A nice end to a
stroll around the lake, the Love Shack welcomes young couples.

Muggle Room, Hogwarts
By Harriet
The Muggle Room is the only place in the castle where
electronics and electricity (a sort of Muggle magic used for light, escalators,
etc.) works in the castle and on the castle grounds. Everywhere else the
machines created by Muggles don't work. This room is near the south tower,
has one door leading into and out of it, and only appears when it is the
first night of the new moon. There is one danger however. If a pure muggle,
who knows nothing of magic at all, enters this room an hour or less before
its suppose to disapper again, the door will close on them and never be
opened again, unless by a new sort of magic. Legend also has it that the
room may burst into flame so there may never be a chance of it opening
again. The room would not be a complete loss nor the muggle.
The room was built in 1222 by a young Ravenclaw named Marcel Quarrenn.
He was in his seventh year when he completed it and told no one about
it until he was on his death bed 80 years later. The only thing he did
not know was when the room could be opened. A Gryffindor, who we know
not of by name, discovered the room in 1352 and found when it opened.
The room is regularly visited now by muggle fans hoping to see muggle
items work while they are still at school. (You will get in trouble for
sneaking out of your common room at night.)

Mystery Chamber, Durmstrang
By Molly McGonagall
This secret passageway is called, the Mystery Chamber.
It is in Durmstrang, in the north tower. It only appears during a full
moon, and because of the many false doors that have deadly surprises within
them it is hard to find. The passageway leads to a secret chamber that
no one has ever entered. The passageway is narrow, but the chamber is
100 feet wide. Though the passageway is in the north tower, the chamber
is under the school. It has never been found, nor used by anyone. No one
knows what lies in it. And hardly anyone knows that it exists. The only
thing that lurks in the Mystery Chamber is Egyptian ghosts and one giant
dragon. The entrance to the Mystery Chamber either has been distoryed,
or is too hidden to be found. Not even the stongest magic can find it.
Who created it, people can only guess. Some that know of it say it was
the Dark Lord. Few say it was Dumbledore. And even fewer say it was some
one that has never been to a school of magic. The Mystery Chamber has
many secrets and mysteries that can never be solved, and will never be
found.

The Prefect Lounge, Hogwarts
By Percyweasley
The Prefect Lounge is located on the second floor landing
near the Hogwarts Library. It is a medium sized room and the door is protected
by a portrait of the Greek goddess Athena. The password changes every
Hogwarts term, but it is almost always the name of a Hogwarts alumnus
that graduated as a Prefect. However, this year's password is "CD"
in memory of the late Cedric Diggory.
The inside of the lounge is decorated
in all four house colors since the lounge is open to prefects of all houses.
Prefects generally are not hostile towards each other, though tempers
do sometimes flare up during Quidditch season. Many bets are won and lost
here.
Contrary to popular belief, the
Prefect Lounge is not a miniature version of the Hogwarts library. There
is a lot more than books inside. Inside the main room, there is a huge
potions laboratory with a cupboard that would nearly rival Snape's own
collection. To the left of the laboratory are five miniature Quidditch
sets where a Prefect could simulate a Quidditch game and plan for a match.
Downstairs is a miniature garden that is kept by special house elves.
Prefects are welcome to use any plants that grow here. Finally, located
upstairs is a collection of advanced-level books. These books are open
only to Prefects, yet they are not dangerous enough to be placed in the
Library's Restricted Section.

Restricted Garden, Hogwarts
By Percyweasley
The Restricted Garden lies just behind the Hogwarts greenhouse.
The entrance is guarded by a seven foot high soldier and only Hogwarts
staff are allowed in. Hogwarts Prefects and Head Boy and Girl are allowed
here, but only with permission from Professor Dumbledore or Professor
Sprout.
Beyond the entrance lies some of
the most bizarre, and often dangerous plant creatures. To make sure these
gardens are kept well, a select team of Hogwarts house elves help Professor
Sprout in feeding and watering the plants held here.
The mature Mandrakes from Chamber
of Secrets were held here after the second years properly placed them
into their own pots.

Room of Light, Hogwarts
By Olave
This room, the 'Room of Light', can be found in Hogwarts,
hidden behind the tapestry next to the gargoyle, that guards Dumbledores
office.
The reason for the room's name is
because this room had many lights in it. The lampshades are all different,
some are large, some are small, and all have elaborate designs on them.
There are two chairs, and there is a book, on the reason that the patterns
are like they are.
This room was discovered in 1825,
by a Miss Eloise Gundin. She was a fifth year, and very, very curious
one. Every Thursday night, under an invisibility cloak, she went around
the corridors, checking every tapestry and door, to see if she could find
any new rooms. She found the Room of Light, but she did not tell anyone
about it, until she was a teacher at Hogwarts, and realised that no one
had ever found that room before her. Miss Gundin told the Headmaster who
told nobody.
Only with the Marauders Map can
the Room of Light be found by those who do not know of it.

The Room of Lost Stuff, Hogwarts
By Elanor Alaghen
Students at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry
often wonder to themselves "Whatever happened to my...", but
little do they realize that their missing object is in The Room of Lost
Stuff.
The Room of Lost Stuff was
created by the house elves of Hogwarts about 200 years ago. The room,
despite its not too evil sounding name, is actually filled with objects
"accidentally thrown in the dustbin" by the house elves. These
objects can range from handkerchiefs to larger items like textbooks. This
room serves the purpose of an off duty recreation room for all the house
elves of Hogwarts.
Over the years, the house
elves have created a library that houses over 300 different books, a ping
pong table, wizarding photo lab, and mini coffeehouse which is connected
to the kitchens via a secret window/food chute.
The only house elf who was willing to comment on The Room of Lost Stuff
was a male named Dobby.
"I is not knowing of
this 'Room of Lost Stuff'. Dobby is a good house elf, sir. Dobby is earning
wages. Dobby would not steal socks from students at Hogwarts to improve
his collectio-" The interview with Dobby was unable to continue because
Dobby began to violently bang his head into the wall while yelling "Bad
Dobby! Bad Dobby!"
The entrance to the Room
of Lost stuff resides in the same hallway as the entrance to the kitchens.
It is in between a painting of a tea kettle and a painting of a giant
manor. The standard Hogwarts inanimate object (though in this case it's
a piece of wall) password is used to enter the Room of Lost stuff. The
last password was 'cheesecake', but was changed soon after I was found
out.

Secrets' Guard, Beauxbatons
By Molly McGonagall
Secrets' Guard is the name of a known hidden room in Beauxbatons.
The only door to it is difficult to reach since you have to be a pure
giant to reach it since it's on the ceiling, and only someone as short
as a House Elf can enter though the door. The room is 60 feet wide, and
it is circled-shaped. The ceiling it's on is within the south tower. If
someone is able to get in Secrets' Guard, they will find pictures on the
walls of dragons, fairies, giant spiders, and serpents. And if they climb
through the door and stand up, they will see desks lined against the walls.
On top of them are swords with magic suppressed within them. There are
only a few doors in the room, and no one would want to jump down through
the entry door unless they were very crazy; one is the exit, choose wrong
and it could possibly cost you your life. Two doors are dead ends with
no danger, one is the way out, and one is a trap you can't get out of.
The reason it is called Secrets' Guard is because no one knows why the
room's there, no one knows why it was put in such a high place, no one
knows why it's so hard to get out once you've got in, no one knows what
the things within in the room mean, and no one knows what it's guarding.
Though people are interested in the mysteries in Secrets' Guard, they
are not going to take the risk just yet. Sometimes at night, the students
or teachers closest to Secrets' Guard either hear a terrible noise, or
disappear!

Shortcut Staircase, Hogwarts
By SpinningJ
At Hogwarts, there is a little known shortcut from the Owlery back to
the common rooms. Instead of going back down the main staircase and through
the castle to return to your common room, you can take the shortcut staircase.
Tucked away behind the roosts, there is a hidden Hogwarts crest. Just
tap your house with your wand, and the staircase opens. At the bottom,
you will be right outside your common room. To prevent students from trying
to go to other house common rooms, it will only work when you tap your
own house. If you tap another house, the stairway will not open, and you
will have to walk back the long way.

Study Sanctuary
By SpinningJ
Is it too noisy in your House Common room to study? Have
no fear; just go to the Study Sanctuary. Away from the bustle of the main
castle, the Study Sanctuary is found by walking straight into the wall
across from the Charms classroom. The wall only appears to be there, and
you will find yourself on the other side, in a quiet room with 4 desks
and a chalkboard. For your convenience, there is a bookshelf with reference
books and supplies for potion making and transfigurations. There is extra
parchment and quills as well as a good supply of ink, so once in the Study
Sanctuary; you don’t have to leave until you are finished. The Study
Sanctuary, as its name implies, is a quiet place to get some work done.
If you are having trouble finding it, just ask Percy Weasley for directions.

The Qwest Room, Hogwarts
By Danny T Atlantis
As you walk in, you realize that there are curtains over
wood, not windows, because you know how you came in... through the trap
door on kitchen floor at Hogwarts. You know you are underground. It is
only there on nights with a full moon. The curtains are all torn and there
is a light on the ceiling in the middle of the room that is about to fall,
so anyone would try to stay away from it. It's not a big room. It used
to be a sort of hideout, for there are a few easy chairs, a bed, a refrigerator
that was apparently emptied when the room was abandoned, blankets, and
a chute. From the feathers, it looks like a tunnel to the outside for
an owl to send letters. That would be the only exit except for the trap
door into the kitchen.

The Theatre Room, Hogwarts
By Eloria Felton
Thought up by Rowena Ravenclaw who had a love of acting,
the theater room was where several select students and professors would
put on productions such as London and Black Cats. The theatre is relatively
small since acting never caught on at Hogwarts; Quidditch practice seemed
to over power stage rehearsals, so all that is left of Rowena’s
dramatic legacy is this room. The stage is made of solid wood and is 3
feet off the floor. A red curtain adorns the frame of the stage. The backstage
consists of a large hallway with three doorways. One doorway leads to
the prop room, while another leads to the costuming department. The last
room was a dressing room for the star of the show. A full vanity with
mirror and lounging sofa tells you that the star was well treated. Stadium
seating goes up for what seems miles in the very small room; it is supposed
that it was magicked to hold as many people as needed, so no show sold
out. The seats are lined with red velvet that matches the curtain, and
are large and squishy. Nobody ever complains about sitting in these chairs
for over an hour.
Alas, the theatre in all it’s
splendor has diminished to a storage room. After 25 years of the school
being open, the dramatic arts program died completely. The room is filled
with cobwebs, the curtain now a shade of grey from dust, the rich wood
of the stage no more than an area to hold large unused cauldrons and gargoyles.
The backstage rooms are cluttered now, moth-eaten costumes found in piles
and piles of boxes that are scattered about. The velvet is torn and arm
rests are ripped off of the chairs. The magical seating is starting to
fade as the years go by, soon it will be like any run-down muggle theatre.
It was located right off of the
entrance to Hogwarts so that people from all around could easily get to
the theatre to watch the shows. Now that it is alone, it moves around,
and only appears on some moonlit nights.
